Are you from Bratislava, do you like art and wandering through historical streets, but don't you know Arthunt??? Error 😀 In September 2025, the 6th year of this great event for the public took place and I was honored to be a part of it for the 3rd year in a row. If you answer yes 3 times, read on.

So, you are eligible for Arthunt 😀
What is Arthunt?
Arthunt is a unique art sharing project founded by Bratislava abstract painter Iveta Ježeková (known as @jezek.art).
Artists donate their works to this event, which will be hidden in the city center in advance.
Participants, as we call them "hunters" 😀, can search for the desired works based on clues. The art works can be viewed in advance on the event's website and social networks.
How to hunt?
The clues for all the artworks are published only at the beginning of the event at a specific time, so everyone has an equal chance to search.
Your task is to wait in the city center, ideally in a strategic location, and as soon as the event officially opens, quickly move to the street where the artwork you want to hunt is hidden.
Based on the clue, you will search in the exterior of the given location 😀, and you keep the found work for free.
Value-added concept
I received an interesting question, whether I don't mind if someone gets my work for free. I dare say that this is harder to explain to someone who has never created anything "just like that".
For myself, for people, for joy, for the process of creation itself, because I simply "inhale exhale", I breathe, I live...
No, I don't mind. Art should not be hermetically sealed and (un)available only in galleries or auction houses. It should bring joy to all people, anywhere, and Arthunt is a great opportunity for that.
Moreover, it is not "just" an event. It is a concept with added value for the artists themselves.
It connects us, we get to know each other, communicate, create opportunities for us to consult, share our joys and strange (un)cultural conditions (and there are plenty of them in this country).
Bonus in the bushes
This year I treated myself to a bonus that was definitely worth it. I traveled from that part of Slovakia where “there is supposedly nothing” (local political metaphor) to be there when someone finds my work. All artists certainly know what it feels like when you hand over a work to someone in person.
You can see the joy, the emotion when a person sees their painting live for the first time. It is indescribable and I will remember these facial expressions forever.
Now imagine that the surprise at this event was doubly great, because the person who just found the work had absolutely no idea that in a few minutes the spying author of the work would emerge from the bushes 😀
She would introduce herself, shake hands and personally wish them a lot of joy from the painting they had just found. Pure emotion in a live broadcast. (You can find the spying video of this commendable act 😀 on my Instagram @ziv.elle)
